Floor and Tile Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions. We have answers!

Q:  Where is the Rustic Floor Showroom located?
A:  Rustic is located in Coutura Design Inspirations. The address is 6380 Corporate Centre Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. You'll find Coutura off Corporate Drive between Woodmen Road and North Nevada Avenue.

Q:  What are your showroom hours?
A:  We're open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.

Q:  Is Rustic a local or national flooring company?
A:  Rustic is locally owned and family operated and has been in business since 1976.

Q:  Do you have an onsite design team?
A:  Yes. Our Design Consultants are available when you visit our showroom at Coutura.

Q:  I'm considering remodeling my home in hardwood. Do you have a selection of hardwood samples at your showroom?
A:  Yes. Rustic features a wide variety of hardwood samples from Cork to Maple and Hickory available in our showroom.

Q:  What hardwood would you recommend for large dogs?
A:  You may want to choose a harder wood like a Brazilian Cherry or Brazilian Walnut with a medium stain. The darker the stain, the more imperfections and scratches are visible. Dogs are just hard on hardwood! A good alternative for wood is a wood look tile. They come in different plank sizes and a lot of colors and textures.

Q:  What is the difference between wood and laminate?
A:  Wood is the real deal all natural product. Laminates are man made from composite materials.

Q:  Can I match the tile I have now?
A:  Tile is made in dye lots and even though it is the same tile, the second dye lot can look totally different. We recommend ordering enough extra for your project and save tiles for small tile repairs in the future. Manufacturers also discontinue tile when sales slow or the look gets dated. If we can't find the exact match at Rustic, we can find something very close!

Q:  What carpet do you recommend for someone with kids and pets?
A:  We would recommend a heavy weight polyester with a tight twist. Polyester is naturally more stain resistant, but all our nylons are stain treated as well. The tighter the twist, the harder for dirt to get in the fabric and the less wear will show. Also, ask us about the new Stainmaster Pet Protect.

Q:  Does carpet pad really make a difference?
A:  Yes. Our favorites are the new foam and rubber pads because most are hypoallergenic and antimicrobial with moisture barriers. You will feel the difference.

Q:  How can I get stains out of my carpet?
A:  Spot removers work great. Follow the manufacturers' cleaning instructions for their carpet for the best results. We offer several quality stain and spot removers.

Q:  What do I do if my carpet seams are coming apart?
A:  Give us a call and we can schedule a complimentary in-home consultation. Most cases can be fixed by a simple carpet restretch.

Q:  What is the best flooring for people with allergies?
A:  While each allergy situation is unique and depends on what exactly a person is allergic to. Cork or Hardwood are typically the best flooring to help allergies. Cork and Hardwood are natural products, they are fairly easy to keep clean and provide little to no chance for dust mites or mold. Installed Cork flooring can also pull allergens and clean the air. There is some debate, but generally we recommend a hard surface over carpeting for people with allergies. However, we do have several carpets that are made specifically to help with allergens. Ask us about our carpets with Magic Fresh and Silver Release.
